Panic Attack

Below is a devotional from a local Spring Hill counseling pastor who just opened a counseling and care ministry l. I strongly recommend Pastor John to any of our church family for any type of care. I really believe he has the gift of making a bad day good.

After reading the devotional it struck me that we (FCC) have prayed for community and relationship. But it left me evaluating: what I am actively and actually doing Monday through Saturday about community and relationships. We have asked God to do mighty things and we have asked that He be manifest through the faith of a few at FCC. God has already answered our prayers, and He has blessed wonderfully and mighty in so many ways. …[read more]

Basket of Blessings

Earlier this year we introduced a basket at church called “The Basket of Blessings.” The idea behind this basket was simple. The basket sits on our communion table, and each week when people come forward to take communion they are encouraged to give whatever loose change they have in their pocket to “The Basket of Blessings.” There is not a hard push for this, and the basket is not the place for a person’s tithes and offerings. It is simply an opportunity to give a little to see how far it will go. We are a small church, but each week, the money in the basket is collected and kept until it reaches between $50 and $100.
