Merry Christmas

It’s Christmas Night now and I finally have some time to write and say “Merry Christmas.” It’s been a great day for me and my family. I trust and pray you had a good day as well. Rght now my wife is baking a cake. Our family will end the night with our tradition of baking a birthday cake for Jesus and singing “Happy Birthday Jesus.” (A song our kids learned a long time ago, originally sung by the Donut Man.) …[read more]

Merry Christmas

i just wanted to tell each one of you how much you mean to me.  We have come a long way over the last 9 years.  i have grown in  my faith becuse of all of you.  Each one of you have done something over the years that has touched my heart.  You have been there through the good, the bad and the ugly.

Merry X-Mas, Happy Holidays

First it was Merry X-Mas. Now it’s Happy Holidays. Why can’t we just call it what it is–Christmas break, Christmas Day, Christmas tree, Christmas Carol, Christmas present.

When stores started advertising “X-Mas Sale,” people complained they were trying to take Christ out of Christmas. Who knows what their motives were, but in church history the letter “X” came to symbolize Christ. “X” is the first letter in the Greek spelling of “Christ,” so “X-Mas” still means “Christmas.” …[read more]
